1 Corinthians 10:13 is the verse people reach for, and it says something more specific than it is usually quoted as saying. It does not promise you will not be tempted, or that you will not suffer. It promises the temptation is common to man — that you are not uniquely broken — and that a way out exists.
Hebrews adds the detail that changes the tone of the whole subject: that Christ was tempted in all points as we are. Whatever else that means theologically, it removes the possibility that temptation itself is the failure.
Jesus in Gethsemane offers the most sympathetic line in scripture on this: the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. He said it to friends who had fallen asleep when he asked them to stay awake.

1 Corintios 10:13 es el versículo al que la gente acude, y dice algo más preciso de lo que suele citarse. No promete que no serás tentado, ni que no sufrirás. Promete que la tentación es humana — que no estás roto de una manera única — y que existe una salida.
Hebreos añade el detalle que cambia el tono de todo el tema: que Cristo fue tentado en todo según nuestra semejanza. Signifique lo que signifique en lo teológico, elimina la idea de que la tentación misma sea el fracaso.
Jesús en Getsemaní ofrece la frase más comprensiva de la Escritura sobre esto: el espíritu está dispuesto, pero la carne es débil. Se lo dijo a unos amigos que se habían dormido cuando les pidió velar.
