Jesus' clearest instruction about prayer concerns where to do it rather than how. Matthew 6 tells the listener to go into a room and shut the door — advice aimed at people who were praying to be seen praying.
The promises here are strong and have been argued over for centuries. Ask, and it shall be given you sits alongside John's more careful phrasing: that we are heard if we ask any thing according to his will. Readers have taken those two in different orders ever since, and it is worth noticing that scripture keeps both rather than resolving them.
Paul's pray without ceasing is three words long and easy to skim past. Read next to his instruction in Philippians — to bring everything, with thanksgiving — it looks less like a discipline and more like a description of talking to someone continually.

La instrucción más clara de Jesús sobre la oración tiene que ver con dónde hacerla, no con cómo. Mateo 6 dice entrar en el aposento y cerrar la puerta: un consejo dirigido a quienes oraban para ser vistos orando.
Las promesas aquí son fuertes y se han discutido durante siglos. Pedid, y se os dará convive con la frase más cuidadosa de Juan: que somos oídos si pedimos alguna cosa conforme a su voluntad. Los lectores han puesto esas dos en distinto orden desde entonces, y vale notar que la Escritura conserva ambas en vez de resolverlas.
El orad sin cesar de Pablo tiene tres palabras y es fácil pasarlo por alto. Leído junto a su instrucción en Filipenses — traerlo todo, con acción de gracias — parece menos una disciplina y más la descripción de hablar con alguien continuamente.
