Bible verses about

Trusting God

Bible verses about trust

Proverbs 3:5 asks for something specific and difficult: trust with all your heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. It is not asking you to stop thinking. It is asking you not to rest your whole weight on your own conclusions.

David's line in Psalm 56 is the most honest sentence about trust in the Bible: what time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. He does not claim the fear goes away. He puts trust and fear in the same moment, which is where they usually live.

Paul's we walk by faith, not by sight is four words of description, not encouragement. Walking without seeing is the ordinary condition, not a failure of it.
